**As of August 2022, I have severely limited availability for piano accompaniment – please reach out a few months in advance to schedule a possible performance date and I will get back to you. Thanks so much for your understanding!**
Please contact me through my Google Form for booking piano accompaniment!
I provide classical piano (and harpsichord) accompaniment services on an individual basis for solo & ensemble festival, auditions, vocal and instrumental concerts, chamber music concerts, solo recitals, services, symposiums/conferences, competitions, assessments, masterclasses, juries, and collegiate classes around the Northern Virginia area.
I have over 15 years of experience playing piano, and have accompanied solo literature (woodwinds, brass, voice), choirs, and chamber groups for professionals and beginners alike. Really taking each piece seriously–doing score study, listening to recordings, ensemble interpretation–is important to me. I do not take on too many clients, so I can really focus on the quality of each work–contact me ASAP during busy times! I will respond within 48 hours.
If in-person performance is not possible, I also record professional accompaniment tracks (MP3s) for music programs that may need a pianist, but don’t have access to piano/pianist. I can provide high-quality piano accompaniment recordings using my Kawai CA-48 digital MIDI controller, integrated with Vienna Symphonic Library’s Steinway Concert D-274 Virtual Sound Library to provide an unparalelled hyper-realistic and professional digital piano sound. These recordings can be played through large speakers in-lieu of a real pianist.
Accompanist Policies
- Prices for my services are determined on a case by case basis and decided over email, based on amount of rehearsals, amount of time spent per rehearsal (hourly fee), traveling distance, difficulty of the work (preparation time), and actual performance.
- Fees for large ensembles (choirs especially) will be agreed upon with the music instructor and school district policies.
- General Pricing: I have charged anywhere from $50 to $500 for various situations. A simple, short Middle School Solo and Ensemble piece for Festival would be $50 (1 rehearsal and a performance). A 2 hour show with multiple and lengthy rehearsals, and difficult, extended accompaniment would be $500. A collegiate recital with multi-movement difficult concertos and sonatas would be $200-$300. Again, each performance is decided on a case by case basis, but this is just a rough estimate of what I have done in the past!
- Payment is due on the day of the performance. Cash, check, or Venmo! I will make sure you know the bill amount well ahead of the performance date, and appreciate your assistance in allowing me to pursue this endeavor part-time.
- For rehearsal, I prefer to travel to your home (if you own a piano) or the actual performance venue (church, school, etc.). If absolutely necessary, a rehearsal can be scheduled at my (small) apartment–I own a baby grand piano and a Kawai CA-48 digital piano.
- Have FUN!! I love working with so many different musicians, and my heart lies with the music. These policies do not reflect my personality, openness, and excitement for performing music. I only charge because I have to pay my bills!
